Test pressings (TPs) are a small run of vinyl (usually 5 pcs) pressed with white labels and sent to you for approval. They let you check for any flaws in the cutting or metalwork before pressing your full quantity.

This depends on the issue. If there is a technical flaw, we would offer to make a new cut and/or metalwork at no extra cost.

Technical flaws we cover:

• Skips caused by mechanical defects
• Audio cut in wrong order (contrary to your files)
• Severely off-center pressing
• Extreme surface noise from bad metalwork

Issues requiring new cutting at your cost:

• Sound distortion due to mastering issues
• Problems from excessive time per side
• Customer sent files in wrong order
• Generally not liking the "feel" of the cut

If your order is more than 200 units, ships to more than one address, is time sensitive or contains expensive color effects then TPs are essential!

This can be corrected easily before pressing - just let us know before approving TPs. Otherwise, records will be pressed exactly as the test pressings.

Without test pressings, our liability is limited to the cutting and metalwork costs only. We cannot cover pressing costs unless there is an extremely serious flaw that slipped past QC. This is why we strongly recommend test pressings for all orders.
